Blog is one of the best way of expressions of one’s thoughts and ideas. There are more than a million bloggers now in the internet and it is increasing day by day. Bangladeshis are also becoming gradually involved in blogging. Though it is more popular in the young but the olders are also taking interest.
Though many of the bloggers are from abroad but more bloggers from home are also participating in the exercise.
Blog is the bridge among people beyond the boundary of a country.
Through blog one would express how deep is his/her affection for his/her country of origin.
Blogging is also at the same time acts as a bridge for the people of the world beyond the religion and cultural barriers. Only bloggers can dream of a world without borders.
Actual number of Bangladeshi blogs is not known to the ordinary citizen. Technorati has highest number of blog listed –about 800. Bdblog.com, bloggers.com,blogcatalog, wordpress.com and some other directories have blogs on Bangladesh enlisted with them.
Who is the first blogger of Bangladesh? Some one may claim or throw light on it.
Topics are varied with Bangdeshi bloggers-from politics, life, society, literature, art and culture, travel, personal reminiscence and science to technology. One can imagine- politics is the most favorite subject among the Bangladeshi bloggers.
There are single bloggers and group bloggers. Some are quite popular. Some bloggers are thoughtful. Some bloggers venture into new subjects- poetry, story telling etc. New bloggers are coming frequently. Few are in medicine. Some are showing their interests in technology.
Some bloggers are courageous and some are rebellious. They post information that the print media will not dare to.
We hope that blogging will stand out as an important mode of expression and the Government and stakeholders will give importance to the ideas expressed in the blogs.
Not very important political and social personalities are involved in blogging except Dr. Muhammad Yunus who has recently open a personal blog though he is not deeply involved as of President Clinton but he is a lively subject among the bloggers around the world and recently he has a live chat with the bloggers while in USA.
It would have been better if our political and social leaders of Bangladesh have their own blogs. Our Chief Adviser of the Caretaker Government may also think of one for himself.
It is the best way to directly communicate with the people. Then why not explore the opportunity?
An ordinary citizen

hi Ms. Badrud… its been awhile since i’ve not visited this site. I just want to ask an extra help from you… i am really wondering as to how you’ve modified your page like the one i can see on your header like those “home,” me & my blog,” “content,” “contact,” “personal thought,” etc. I’m also enhancing a wordpress page aside from my old weblog. I am really curious about these things and as much as possible i want to learn every inch of it….ahahaha. but i’m taking my dream one step at a time. I just want to ask if its true that Bangladesh is that poor? as what international news is portraying your country? I don’t mean racism but i just want to clarify what is the truth from not. You will sound truthful because it will be from a resident point of view and there is no money, ratings and politics among the many factors involved. I am so curios because i have an auntie who was nursed who used to work in Bangladesh yet she still managed to send money to his family here in the Philippines. Unfortunately, lately she lost her work and i’ve heard she moved to other place (where not that close). I’m so talkative, i’m very sorry it seems like i’ve written long. Thank you Ms. Badrud for being so nice. The article i have with you was published. This is true but in Tagalog language. Pls do email me the moment you reply. Thank you again. The Father in heaven do bless us all. And how about your religion in Bangladesh? Im so interested about geography that i am asking so many things about so many places. ahaha….
I agree that our civil society should be harnessing the power of blogs instead of being confined to forums/mailing lists.
As per my information Drishtipat Blog was popular among some politicians because of its political analysis and even Fakhruddin Ahmed (before becoming the chief advisor) was an avid reader of “unheard Voices” blog.
Mahfuz Sadique did an exclusive report on the Bangladeshi blogosphere in Slate Magazine.

I try to keep an eye on the Bangladeshi blogosphere. About a year ago I had listed these notable Bangladeshi blogs. Also don’t forget to check the Bangla language blogs.
Thanks Rezwan. Your addition will enrich the readers.
I have gone through Mahfuz Sadique article on Slate from the link.It is a beautiful discourse on the Bangladeshi blogs.
I appreciate your attempt to list the Bangladeshi blogs in your site but this should be updated.
The rise of Bagla blogs also good to note. One should ask Mozilla to improve there software for better reading of Bangla type.
I have a look of your bangla blog ‘Chera Patai lekha’. The name is beautiful and immediately makes one nostalgic.
