2 days hartal of opposition has ended today. Opposition has also staged 3 days hartal in last week on the issue of disappearance of Ilyas Ali. The hartal was observed in a loose way. The opposition leaders and activists were not much vigilant on the streets.Police were rather more alert and pro-government activists were active on the streets. But in sporadic attack opposition activists destroy or burnt vehicles and blast cocktails.
Cases were filed against most of the BNP central leaders. Their General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam went into hiding and their Joint General secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was arrested after coming out of party office declaring the next program. Barrister Moudud has tried to get permission of a special bench in off hour by convincing the Chief Justice to get the bail of party leaders but failed.
The government has taken hard line and the opposition is squeezed.
Common people wonder- will the calm prevail.
