Intel is coming to Bangladesh September 2, 2007

Intel Chairman Mr.Craig Barret along with his wife is coming to Bangladeh on the 4th instant.

We are not informed about the details of his program. But we are feeling encouraged on his coming to Bangladesh. We hope that his visit to Bangladesh will mark as a milestone in the history of IT sector in Bangladesh.

Intel is the world’s largest semiconductor company and holding the number one position in semiconductor sale worldwide since 1991.

Intel makes microprocessors, motherboard chipsets, network cards, ICs, flash memory, graphic chips, embedded processors and other devices that are used in communication and computing industries.

Starting its journey in 1968, it created the first microprocessor in 1971 and one of the first microcomputers in 1972 and commercially profitable X86 microprocessors in 1978. By Sep 2006, it has 100,000 employees and 200 facilities worldwide. Its market capitalization in June8, 2006 was $127 billion. Its 2005 revenue was $ 38.8 billion and its Fortune 500 ranking was 49th.

Craig Barret is working as Chairman since May,2005. Before that he was the CEO of the company.

Intel also take up the challenges to bridge up the digital differences between people. In Bangladesh, there are scope for Intel for investing in soft and hardware industries, develop training facilities in IT and extending IT support to the rural people.

Bangladesh has immense potentiality in IT sector. Many talented Bangladeshis are working in Intel, USA. Youths here are bright and people are technology oriented. They only need the support to nourish this potential.

We hope that Intel will extend that support. We welcome the visit of Mr. Barret to Bangladesh.
