The incidence of hydro meteorological disasters like drought, flood and cyclone have been multiplied than the geographical ones like earthquake and tsunami, due to climate changes. Disasters in Bangladesh round the year stand as best example.

The developed countries are mainly responsible for the climate change which is producing so much havoc in nature and human lives.

The developed countries must compensate the risk they are producing and the damage they are causing to the affected countries.

The issue was discussed in a seminar in Dhaka titled ‘United Nations Climate Change Conference-Bali: Risk and Compensation of climate change’ and organized jointly by Coast Trust and Equity and Justice Working group, an organization of over 25 coastal NGOs of coastal areas.

The seminar was designed to create pressure on the UN body to implement Kyota Protocol, an agreement on environment and sustained development
