President of Bangladesh as part of state ritual arranged the Victory Day reception at Bangabhaban on  16th December 2007. Leaders of major political parties, many dignitaries, diplomats, editors, business leaders, academicians, artists and senior civil and military leaders were invited.

But major political parties like AL, JP, LDP, BDB,WP, CPB and JSD didn’t join the reception. Besides sector commanders and invited freedom fighters didn’t avoid the gathering. Khondoker Delwar Hussain of Khaleda appointed BNP Secretary General didn’t accept the invitation as he was invited as an individual.

The political leaders and sector commanders didn’t join the reception on the plea that the government invited the Jamaat-e-Islami against whom the demand for trail for their role in the liberation war is raised.

Among the political leaders  Saifur Rahman, Hafizuddin, Moyeen  Khan of BNP and some Jamat Leaders joined the gathering.

But the question is how far this political division will continue and where it will end.
