Grameen Bank -1Cabinet approved a law to modify the Grameen Bank ordinance, 1983 to be placed in the parliament in this session. The law will give more power to Bangladesh Bank to have more control over the Grameen Bank. The move is the latest one by the Government in the conflict with Dr. Yunus over Grameen Bank.

While the public banks are in near bankruptcy, Government is more concern with GB, though GB was running smoothly on its own under the past ordinance.

The move will give no score to its basket and people and experts feel that if the Government could mend its own leaks, then it would have been better the country.
