Extra-judicial killings January 31, 2014

Bangladesh is witnessing extra-judicial killings rising in the last few months. There are reports of deaths in the jail custody also.
Extra-judicial killings were also there during earlier regimens in Bangladesh. But where the earlier attempts were mainly to the criminals but this time it is targeted to the opposition leaders and activists. Government spokesmen are claiming that the killings are in retaliation to the terrorist acts they had done on the law enforcing agencies and on the public during the pre-election violence.

Human Rights Watch demands an end to the extra-judicial killings in Bangladesh.Opposition BNP also protested the killings. Citizens expressed their concern.

People are waiting for rule of law to be established.
